Welcome back to our garden journey! Today, we’re picking up right where we left off, diving into the aftermath of last season’s challenges and the excitement of planning for the new one.
Last year, we faced a setback with our “Little Lime Punch Hydrangea” from Proven Winners. Despite arriving crushed, we didn’t lose hope. With Proven Winners’ support, we gave it a chance, finding a cozy corner in our backyard to call home. Miraculously, it bounced back, flourishing alongside its sibling. It’s a testament to resilience and the beauty of improvisation in gardening.

As we embark on this year’s garden cleanup, we encounter remnants of past struggles. Our damaged hydrangea, though on the mend, needs some shaping up. Without prominent buds to guide us, we opt for a gentle cleanup, knowing we’ll revisit it later in spring. Every leaf and stem is a sign of hope and perseverance.
During our daily garden walk, we witness signs of life everywhere. From the eager hostas to the resilient evergreens, each plant has its story of survival. However, our attention is drawn to the Graham Blandy Boxwoods flanking our front porch. Despite winter damage and a bout of powdery mildew, they hold on. We’ll monitor them closely, ready to adapt if needed, but hopeful they’ll thrive in their current home.
Our garden journey doesn’t end with cleanup; it extends to exploration. A trip to the local store reveals early glimpses of spring offerings. Fruit trees and vibrant pansies catch our eye, igniting excitement for the season ahead. It’s not just about adding to our garden but also fostering curiosity and learning, especially for our young ones.
As we navigate the highs and lows of gardening, we’re reminded of the beauty in every stage. From setbacks to successes, each moment shapes our garden and teaches us invaluable lessons. With optimism and determination, we embrace the challenges, knowing that every plant deserves a chance to bloom.
Join us as we continue to nurture our garden, sharing the joys and lessons along the way. Stay tuned for more updates as spring unfolds, promising new growth and endless possibilities in our green oasis. Remember, in gardening, as in life, there’s grace in every season.
